Political stance against a fellow believer *Crack!
A social side taken against a fellow believer *Crack!
A black and white issue that has all of the sudden turned gray *Crack!
A response that has been labeled as “judgement” *Crack!
Buying into what a celebrity values instead of what Christ values *Crack!
Valuing a “c”hurch structure over the “C”hurch body of Christ *Crack!
You may not hear the cracks but I know you see them. They are happening in our families, with our friends, and all over our world on tv, in books, and especially in social media. These cracks are leading to fights, breaks, and an un-unified body of Christ.
Well guess what? We are doing exactly what the enemy wants! We so busy worrying about being “right” or having people see “our way” that we are forgetting our goal! We are team mates, we the body of Christ, we are a team!
Lately it feels like our team is spending so much time fighting that we are forgetting who and what we are living for. Our opposition is going around us, scoring goals, making shots and passes while we are busy fighting. Our coach, our God, is waving His hands frantically, from the sidelines, saying, “Look in my direction, look at me, I know what to do!”
We have the crowds in the stands, wanting to cheer for us, wanting to root on the home team but we aren’t looking like much of a team. The people are focusing on the opponent, more than they are looking at us. They are drawn to the little victories the other team has made. Our opponents look sleek, look together, they look like a team, of course they would be pulling in the crowd’s cheers and applause!
My prayer is that we reconcile with one another, our church, our team mates, we look to our Coach, the one who knows the patterns, the drills, and we focus on the goal, the reason we are here, the Great Commision, to love and worship our Lord!
Start the clock…
Matthew 28:19-20- “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Psalm 15:2-3-“The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart;whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others…”
Luke 10:27-“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”
